At SL3, we believe language therapy for the school aged child should utilize the school curriculum as much as possible. Our goal is to provide language structures that help scaffold student learning.
Here are some of our favorite language structuring tools and how we are using them:
The story grammar marker is a comprehensive program that targets narrative language. It can be used to target formulation of oral and written stories, comprehension of basic eh-questions and sequencing of stories.
The EET toolkit can be used to help students organize their thoughts. It is suitable for all ages (preschool through eight grade). Students use the EET to describe simple items verbally or in writing. The EET can also be used to describe two items and then to compare/ contrast the items.
